One District-One Book Postscript, February 11, 2011:

Our "Princely Party" on February 9 was a terrific event! We had over 90 participants who played Little Prince Jeopardy, designed royal postcards, created magnificent crowns, flew paper airplanes through the desert and planted very special flowers. After the activities, we gathered in the Palos South Commons to distribute raffle prizes and view videos showing student projects. Many thanks to everyone who participated in this One District-One Book Community Reading Project!

Our chapter activities, podcasts and quotations will remain online in this blog for everyone to enjoy and for other schools to use or adapt. Please take some time to view our student projects on our district website.

WEEK 3, Chapters 19-27

Think & Read:
Why did the Little Prince expect to be able to view the whole planet from the top of the mountain he climbed in Chapter 19?

Optional Activities:
1)  Draw the landscape the Little Prince saw from the top of the mountain.

3)  Use the Comic Creator at Read-Write-Think to create a comic strip of the events in this chapter.

    The Little Prince thought that Earth was small just like his planet. But he was totally wrong.

    The Little Prince thought planet Earth was small like his planet is. The Little Prince was way way way wrong. Planet Earth is WAY bigger than his planet!!!

    I like that in chapter 19 how the prince yells and then what ever he said echoed...echoed... echoed.

    My favorite part in chapter 19, was when the Little Prince was in the garden talking, and asking the roses things.

    First off, chapter nineteen was so short but it was so cool. I liked it a lot but most of all I like this book and all chapters so far are very creative and some are extrordinarily funny.
