A Community of Readers

One District-One Book Postscript, February 11, 2011:

Our "Princely Party" on February 9 was a terrific event! We had over 90 participants who played Little Prince Jeopardy, designed royal postcards, created magnificent crowns, flew paper airplanes through the desert and planted very special flowers. After the activities, we gathered in the Palos South Commons to distribute raffle prizes and view videos showing student projects. Many thanks to everyone who participated in this One District-One Book Community Reading Project!

Our chapter activities, podcasts and quotations will remain online in this blog for everyone to enjoy and for other schools to use or adapt. Please take some time to view our student projects on our district website.

Chapter 27

Chapter Podcast by Ms. Amy Christie, Palos South Assistant Principal

Chapter Quote:
"Here, then, is a great mystery."

Think & Read:
Why was the pilot worried about the Little Prince's rose?

Optional Activities:
1)  Write a letter from the Little Prince to the pilot telling him if he made it back to his planet.
2)  Draw a picture of the great mystery.  What do you think happened?

  1. that chapter was myserious because you wonder where the little prince might be and if he is ok or that something has gone wrong. the chapter I liked the most was this chapter because it is so, well it just makes you curious because you want to know what happens next.
