A Community of Readers

One District-One Book Postscript, February 11, 2011:

Our "Princely Party" on February 9 was a terrific event! We had over 90 participants who played Little Prince Jeopardy, designed royal postcards, created magnificent crowns, flew paper airplanes through the desert and planted very special flowers. After the activities, we gathered in the Palos South Commons to distribute raffle prizes and view videos showing student projects. Many thanks to everyone who participated in this One District-One Book Community Reading Project!

Our chapter activities, podcasts and quotations will remain online in this blog for everyone to enjoy and for other schools to use or adapt. Please take some time to view our student projects on our district website.

Chapter 2

Chapter Podcast by Mrs. Jen Peloquin, Palos West Assistant Principal

Chapter Quote:
"Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves..."

Think & Read:
Why did the Little Prince like the drawing of the box instead of the drawing of the sheep?

Optional Activities:
1)  Ask a grown-up to draw a picture.  Describe what you see.
2)  Write or tell about a time you were encouraged or discouraged to develop your talents.
